In terms of the “Community” or “Hizmet Movement” the July 15 coup attempt caused them to directly confront the cold and harsh/brutal face of the STATE, which provided the stability and order environment they needed to prevent the interruption of the “Hizmet” they had blessed for nearly 40 years, on the one hand, and to question the reasons for the point reached.
On the one hand, the members of the community who “dedicated” their whole lives for the goal of “you should be in the most vital institutions” had difficulty in explaining what happened on July 15 and after with the motto “handless, mute to swearing” and “we didn’t do it, we were trapped, it’s not a coup d’état”. They were convinced by the official private discourse of “theatre”. Yes, this is proof that “secret/privacy units” are both the brain and heart of the community. We are faced with an indefinite structure that can still influence/manipulate those who are devoted to the community.
Again, on the one hand there is the state authority, which cannot adequately explain the “secret/privacy structure” and its actions to the public, cannot explain the extent of the danger and evil, and, as if that is not enough, is late or slow in implementing the mechanisms/systems that will separate the civil and the “secret/privacy structure”. On the other hand it is a ” secret/privacy structure-organization” that we can call aysberg, which has already built its “existence” on bureaucratic and legal gaps, which is very difficult to prove legally.
When these two come together, what is inevitable is the grievances that tens of thousands of people experience, who are not even remotely related to the events/crimes. It should be noted that since July 15 2016, every administrative and penal decision taken hastily, without making any distinction between “secret/privacy structure -civilian” has been written as “victimization” to the household of the private body and has been the material for creating a perception in the public.
While realizing this situation, understanding the cause-effect relations correctly and revealing the perpetrators of what happened is the primary duty/debt of the “community” administrators, we have not witnessed a statement/self-criticism made since July 15 2016, apart from imposing a policy of rejection and denial regarding each incident. However “self-criticism/questioning and learning from mistakes” is the basic condition of distinguishing truth from lies, guilty and innocent in such cases. No manager, especially F.Gülen, could criticize himself. F.Gülen did not dare to tell what happened, what was done/what could not be done, and his regrets. F.GULEN did not dare to tell what happened, what was done / could not be done, and regrets.

On the contrary, GÜLEN stated in an interview with Finnish state television about Adil ÖKSÜZ, the imam/responsible of the Turkish Armed Forces, who was the number one civilian planner of the coup attempt by pursuing a policy of denial/interpretation, as he had done in the past, and stated that “Adil ÖKSÜZ may have come to the camp, but he did not know anyone named Adil ÖKSÜZ”.
In addition to the reasons such as not interrupting the “community activities” going on abroad, especially in the USA and European countries, and the fact that the members of the asylum seeker/refugee community are not in legal difficulties in the countries where they are refugees, as well as those who are not involved in secret/privacy activities, who are not aware of/disapprove of what happened on July 15th. It is understood that silence is preferred by considering some interests such as keeping the masses from breaking away from the community.

If we come to the mythological story of “Mimisbrunnr”, which is the subject of the title of our article:
“Odin is the god of wisdom and warfare in Norse mythology. He is the oldest and highest of the Gods. Odin has been called many names in the past; father of all god of the gallows, lord of death, god of burdens and prisoners… Odin is the cornerstone of Scandinavian mythology. It is called and worshiped differently in many countries.
Odin carries the greatness of knowledge in his soul. His soul wants to dominate the nine places. The suffering he suffered for this cause does not intimidate him, nor does it consume his soul. While the universe is still young, Odin seeks Mimir’s well to see the world with eternal gaze. It disguises for it. Dressed in a long cloak and hat, he goes to Jotunheim, the land of giants.
Odin wants to take a sip from Mimir’s well/Mimisbrunnr. The reward for drinking from Mimir’s well is a tremendous sacrifice. The sacrifice Mimir demands is not less than Odin’s right eye being taken out and thrown into the well. Mimir dips the horn into the well of wisdom and offers it to Odin to drink. The water is cold. Odin drinks water to the last drop. As he drinks, wisdom spreads throughout his body. He can now see more with one eye than with both eyes. Thus, Odin has all the knowledge.

Odin’s eye is in Mimir’s well. It is guarded by the roots of Yggdrasil. One eye no longer sees anything, but Odin sees everything.”
On the other hand, Ahmet DÖNMEZ, who has been a reporter for Zaman for many years, pursues the truth/information, while experiencing serious ruptures with the “community” he has been in/with/around himself for more than 30 years, taking social/professional risks as well as gaining wisdom from Mimir’s Well/Mimisbrunnr.
He sacrificed his “community eye” in order to drink his water. A.DÖNMEZ shared what he encountered/heard/experienced while drinking the water of wisdom for 8 months (as a journalist, the information he acquired must date back to before). He shared it in a series of articles titled “How the Congregation Was Dragged From Inside Step by Step to July 15th?”. Such a series of articles could already be the product of such a search for truth and wisdom.
Ahmet DÖNMEZ tried to explain in detail the unknown aspects of the secret/privacy structure of the community, which has been acting almost like a closed box by staying away from transparency for many years. In this context, both the community base and the Turkish public had the opportunity to learn about the confidential/privacy structure or unit of the GÜLEN community that remained in the dark.

It is also understood from the comments of the section on the series of articles that most of the members of the community (including those who criticize/insult them) follow the series with curiosity and interest, and still try to innoculate the ” confidential/privacy structure” which has already come to light. Throughout the series of articles: “Mustafa Özcan and his team, the power struggles in the private services, Mehmet DEGERLİ, the efforts to restructure the service, the Milsoft Incident” brought together very important information in terms of recent history and tried to find answers to their questions.
Ahmet DÖNMEZ also included his own comments and evaluations, adhering to the cause and effect relationshi by quoting the statements and testimonies of some of the soldiers who were members of the community and who took part in the coup attempt of July 15, or some of the civil responsibles who involved/served in secret/privacy structures. Ahmet DÖNMEZ’s comments and evaluations helped the public and the community segment to better understand the unknown aspects of July 15 and the psychology of those responsible for the coup plot, and to penetrate into the details.
Noteworthy points; in addition to the fact that the secret/privacy administrators mentioned in the article series are completely silent, even those whose pictures/open names are published do not have the right to an explanation/interview/answer, the media close to the government in Turkey are almost completely unresponsive, and the things written in the Turkish public opinion do not come to the agenda, except for those who are curious about the subject. Unfortunately, mainstream media and social media are not places where “facts are complimented”.
On the other hand, in our age where the reading culture is weakening day by day, some criticisms can be made about the formal deficiencies such as the length of the chapters of the series, the lack of translations of the series into foreign languages such as English/German/Russian, and the lack of a summary “reading guide/who is who” section for the series in the last part of the series.
Considering the comments and evaluations made by most of the journalists and social media accounts who are currently defending the community, against Ahmet DÖNMEZ’s article series, it is understood that the top executives and secret/privacy administrators of the community are seriously disturbed by the in-depth questioning of their past mistakes/wrong plans due to this series of articles.
Leaving aside those who will continue to defend the community under any circumstances, this series of articles has been instrumental in the community’s base questioning the decisions and practices of members of the secret/privacy structures throughout the community leading up to 15 July.
In the final analysis, Ahmet Dönmez achieved what could not be done until now, perhaps not in the future, with his individual efforts and left a very important note in history. Let’s hope that future generations will realize this effort which contains details about one of the darkest periods in our history and learn from what happened.
